Pupils at Bishop Pursglove brush up on their road safety skills following police visit

Posted on 25th June 2015

Pupils at Bishop Pursglove CofE Primary School have been learning all about road safety following a visit from their local officer.

PCSO Ian Phipps from the Tideswell, Litton, Baslow and Beeley Safer Neighbourhood Team went back to class on Friday, June 19 to chat to pupils about the topic.

During the visit, PCSO Phipps spoke to the youngsters in all classes about staying safe when out and about, including how to cross the road safely and the importance of acting in a sensible manner when walking close to a road.

He said: "All the children seemed to have an enjoyable time whilst listening to the advice and I really hope they put their new skills into practice and stay safe when out and about.

"It was great for me to meet the youngsters and build up a link with them. I hope they will stop and say hello if they see me whilst on patrol."
