Wirksworth officers are appealing for information after a number of shops and garages were broken into.

Between 10.30pm on Saturday, December 6 and 9.40am on Sunday, December 7, offenders forced entry into a garage at a property on Slater Crescent in Wirksworth.

An orange coloured KTM500 EXC 14 model motorbike was stolen from within.

Overnight between Tuesday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 4, offenders forced entry into a garage and two shops in Wirksworth.

Cash was stolen from the Wirksworth Festival Office and the Cats Protection League Office, both on North End in Wirksworth after thieves forced their way inside.

On the same night, thieves forced the lock off a shed on Greenway Croft in Wirksworth. A search was carried out, however nothing was stolen.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activity to police to help stop a crime from happening.

Anyone with information about the incidents or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area is asked to contact PC Dan Mitchell on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
