Police invite parents in Wirksworth and Middleton to learn more about drugs and young people

Parents in Wirksworth and Middleton are invited to attend a special information evening to increase their awareness around drugs and young people.

Officers from the Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Team will be working in partnership with Derbyshire County Council, Anthony Gell School and members from the Wirksworth and Ashbourne Multi Agency Team (MAT).

The evening, which has been organised by MAT, will take place on Thursday, March 13 at Wirksworth Town Hall and will run from 7pm.

Parents and community members are being encouraged at attend the information evening which is designed to give them the opportunity to find out more about drugs and their affects.

A guest speaker from Derbyshire Constabulary will be chatting to parents about drug related issues and answering any concerns from parents and guardians.

The Safer Neighbourhood policing team will be on hand to offer advice and agency displays will also be put in place to offer further information and show the help and support that is available.
