New PC takes on neighbourhood policing in Wirksworth and Middleton

Posted on 17th November 2014

Residents in Wirksworth and Middleton will be seeing a new officer on the beat as PC Mitchell joins the Safer Neighbourhood team.

PC Dan Mitchell has recently taken on the role of Safer Neighbourhood Officer and will be patrolling the beat areas alongside PCSO Sue Lester.

Dan joined Derbyshire Constabulary in 2005 as a police community support officer in Long Eaton before taking on the role as a reactive officer in Matlock and Ashbourne.

He has experience in both responsive and community officer roles and has worked on high profile operations such as the G8 and NATO summits.

PC Dan Mitchell from the Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “I will be out and about in the community over the coming months to meet as many people as possible and introduce myself to them as their new police officer.

“I look forward to speaking with local residents to discuss any issues that they may and the ways in which we, as the police, can tackle them and make improvements to the area.

“Wirksworth and Middleton are two of the safest places to live and with the help of the community and our partners we can continue to work together to make it even better.”
