Wirksworth and Middleton residents invited to shape neighbourhood policing

Posted on 16th April 2015

Residents living in Wirksworth and Middleton are being invited to shape policing in their community.

The Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Team are encouraging people to attend an upcoming meeting on Wednesday, April 29, to have their say on issues that matter to them the most.

Sergeant Andy Wordsworth, PC Dan Mitchell and PCSO Sue Lester are set to run the meeting from 5.30pm at Wirksworth Town Hall on Coldwell Street.

The meetings give people the opportunity to chat to officers about any community concerns that they may have, along with picking up crime prevention advice from the team.

The feedback will then be used to set the policing priorities for the area for the next three months.

The current neighbourhood priority sees officers putting the brakes on speeding vehicles in Middleton, Bole Hill and Steeple Grange. The team are also working to tackle anti-social behaviour and inconsiderate parking in the community.

If you cannot attend the meeting but have concerns that you would like to raise then please contact the Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101.
