Buxton residents will be seeing a new face on the streets as its latest PCSO joins the ranks.

Former web sales associate, Dave Murphy, is the latest community support officer to join the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

PCSO Murphy started out on his beat earlier this week and will be on patrol throughout the town over the coming months to introduce himself to the community that he knows so well.

Dave worked at Bells Shoes in Buxton for five years in a range of roles before taking on the position as a community support officer.

PCSO Murphy said: “Joining the force is something that I have wanted to do since being small so it is great to take on this opportunity and police my local community.

“I have lived in Buxton for twenty years so I know the area well and cannot wait to get stuck in and make a difference to local residents.

“This role is worlds apart from my old job and I am most excited about getting out into the community and taking on new challenges and neighbourhood policing issues.”

Dave Murphy is the latest officer to join the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team after PCSO Patrick Haley who started earlier this year.
