Posted on 9th December 2014

Police are appealing for information after groceries were stolen from two stores in Buxton.

At around 9pm on Sunday, December 7, a man entered the Co-operative Food Store on Scarsdale Place, Buxton and selected items from the shelf.

He went to the till with his goods and made comments to the cashier to suggest that he had forgotten to pick up another item in the store. The man was seen to then pick up the bags of groceries before leaving the store without offering payment.

He was described as white, wearing a baggy t-shirt, black jeans and white trainers.

At around 3.20am on Monday, December 8, a bottle of Jack Daniels and other groceries were stolen from the Tesco Express Store on London Road, Buxton using the same method.

Anyone with information that may assist officers with this investigation is asked to call PC Dean Cutts on 101, quoting crime number 51792/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
