Police are appealing for witnesses following theft from vehicle in Buxton

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle was broken into in the Buxton area.

Between 11.30am and 12.20pm on Thursday, January 23, offenders smashed the window of a blue Ford KA parked on Temple Road, Buxton.

An iPod was taken from the vehicle.

Police would like to speak to a man who was seen in the area around the time of the crime and who may have seen the incident. He is described as wearing a grey tracksuit and a red and black cap.

Police are urging motorists to up their security by ensuring that windows and doors are properly secure and no valuable items are left on display or in the vehicle where possible.

Other advice includes parking in well-lit, overlooked areas and removing any visible marks such as sat nav holder rings to deter a criminal.

Anyone with information or CCTV nearby is asked to contact PC 2366 Parkinson at Buxton police station on 101.
