Posted on 1st May 2015

Officers from the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team have been taking to the streets to lend a hand at the town's Big Spring Clean.

PC Russ Barlow and PCSO Sally Bowden joined the Buxton Town Team and groups of volunteers for the annual Buxton Spring Clean on Tuesday, April 28.

The day saw local community groups, students and residents helping out to clean the railings around the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton.

More than 250 students took to the streets to help out, including students from Buxton and Leek College, Fairfield School, Buxton Community School, St Thomas Moore, St Anne's School and Burbage School.

PCSO Sally Bowden from the Buxton Town Team said: "It was fantastic to see so many volunteers and local students getting involved and lending a hand for the Buxton Spring Clean.

"Despite the weather, there was a really great atmosphere with everyone helping out to clean the railings and keep Buxton a lovely place to live, work and visit."

The Big Buxton Spring Clean is run annually by the Buxton Town Team.
