Cyclists and Land Rover owners in Buxton are being encouraged to get their security into gear at a property marking drive this week.
The Buxton Town Safer Neighbourhood Team are set to host a free security marking event on Friday, June 5 as part of a crime prevention initiative.
The event will take place between 10am and 12noon at the Sylvan Park Car Park on Spring Gardens, Buxton, to encourage 4x4 owners and cyclists to protect their property from thieves.
Safer Neighbourhood officers will be on hand throughout the morning to security mark vehicles and bikes for free with SmartWater.
SmartWater is a forensic based security marking fluid that can be used on property from bikes, electrical items and jewellery to help deter criminals.
Marking items with security kits such as SmartWater can improve the chances of police returning any items if they are stolen and then recovered.
PCSO Dave Murphy from the town's Safer Neighbourhood team said: "We will be visiting the Sylvan Park Car Park on Friday morning to encourage cyclists and motorists to take action against criminals by protecting their property.
"We will also be on hand to chat to residents about any neighbourhood concerns that they may have, along with offering home security advice for the summer months. We look forward to seeing your there."
