Police and licensees are teaming up to launch an ‘Intoxicated No Entry’ campaign at pubs and clubs across Buxton.
Following the success of the previous ‘Intoxicated No Sale’ initiative, officers will be working closely with Buxton door staff to prevent those who have over consumed alcohol from entering a premise.
The campaign, which is set to launch on Friday, February 27, will see officers teaming up with pub and bar staff to reduce the level of alcohol-related harm and anti-social behaviour in the community.
Pub and club staff will be seen to wear Intoxicated No Entry jackets and posters with information about the initiative will be displayed around Buxton Town Centre.
Sergeant Phil Bateman from the Buxton Licensing Team said: “Intoxicated is a great way for us to work alongside pub and bar staff to crack down on any alcohol-related issues in our community.
“The Intoxicated No Entry campaign will run alongside the messages for the No Sale initiative. We will be working closely with pub and club staff, primarily those working the doors, to offer advice and support.
“The campaign aims to stop those who have consumed too much alcohol from entering a pub or club and becoming more intoxicated. This will help us to keep the communities safe from any anti-social behaviour or crime, along with protecting the safety of those drinkers.”
Intoxicated is run by Derbyshire police and High Peak Borough Council and aims to crack down on alcohol-related offences by raising awareness of the law around the sale of alcohol to people who have already had too much.
