Posted on 25th March 2014

Officers put on their walking shoes and joined the children from Chinley Primary School as part of their sponsored walk.

PC Andy Crosthwaite and PCSO Karen Green joined teachers and children from the school to help them to safely complete their charity walk as part of Sports Relief.

The school completed their walk from Chinley Primary School to the centre of the Village on Friday, March 21.

The team were on hand to assist the teachers in ensuring that the children were able to cross the road safely and that they all stayed together during the walk.

PC Crosthwaite from the local policing team said: “We were delighted to help out with the safety of the children and staff of Chinley Primary school during their fundraising effort of a sponsored walk around the village.

“Events like this are a great opportunity for us to engage with different age groups about the role of the police in their community and how people can take steps to stay safe and protect themselves from crime.”
