Have you seen this Audi? Appeal following Chinley van break

Posted on 6th February 2017

We have released CCTV footage of two people and an Audi we would like to trace after a van was targeted in Chinley.

At around 1.30am on Friday, January 6, thieves pulled up along Princes Road in Chinley. They smashed the passenger side window of a white panel van, before gaining entry to the rear of the van. Thankfully all tools had been removed and the thieves left empty handed.

The same van was also targeted in November last year. We believe that the same set of people have
targeted the van each time.

We have now released CCTV footage to help to trace those responsible, particularly the Audi which is suspected to have been involved in similar crimes.

The Audi is black in colour with silver wing mirrors and a loud exhaust. It is alleged that the owners may regularly change their registration plate.

Over recent months we have received reports of thieves breaking into vans, particularly trades vehicles, across the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales, to steal power tools. Operation Everman is set to tackle the issue.

We are asking anyone who recognises those in the footage, or who may have seen a similar vehicle in their neighbourhood, to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Adam Harrison on 101, quoting occurrence number 17000010011, or by sending him a message here

You can also report a crime anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
