New look Safer Neighbourhood team takes to the beat in Fairfield

Posted on 7th July 2015

Residents in Fairfield will be seeing some new faces on their Safer Neighbourhood team as PC Weston and PCSO Bowden join the beat.

Police Constable Andrew Weston will be teaming up with Sergeant Denis Murphy and PCSO's Sophie Rost and Sally Bowden to patrol the Fairfield area and tackle any issues in the community.

Since joining Derbyshire Constabulary 19 years ago, PC Weston has spent his time as a section response officer, serving the communities of Matlock, Bakewell and a brief spell at Chesterfield.

Andrew joined the Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team earlier this year and has been spending time getting to know the community.

He said: "After spending 19 years as a response officer, I am really looking forward to the new challenges that my role in the Safer Neighbourhood team will bring.

"Over the past couple of months I have been carrying out patrols around the Fairfield estate to get to know the people who live here.

"I will be heading out on the beat over the coming weeks and months to continue to introduce myself to the community and tackle the issues that matter most to them."

PCSO Sally Bowden has also recently joined the Fairfield beat after PCSO Patrick Haley left the team to train as a regular police constable. Sally first joined the force in November last year and has been patrolling the communities in Buxton Town Centre.

To speak to the Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team call 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police.
