Rare Buddha statues stolen from Buxton and Fairfield

Posted on 10th March 2017

We are appealing for information after rare Buddha statues were stolen from gardens in Buxton and Fairfield.

Sometime between Monday, February 27 and Thursday, March 2, a large stone Buddha ornament, believed to be rare, was stolen from the front garden of a property on Lathkill Grove Buxton.

Another large Buddha statue was stolen from the front garden of a property on Kings Road in Fairfield over the same timeframe.

Officers from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team are appealing to anyone with information about the thefts or the whereabouts of the ornaments to contact them.

They are particularly interested in hearing from residents in the area who may have seen a white transit van with a psychedelic pattern painted on the side, believed to be collecting scrap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Alan Nield on 101, quoting occurrence number 17000090184, or by sending him a message here
