Police have charged two men with drugs offences after they were stopped by patrolling officers in April this year.

Officers were carrying out patrols on Saturday, April 26 when they saw two men acting suspiciously outside a property on Matlock Bank, Gamesley.

The men were allegedly seen to deposit a small bag of suspected drugs into a nearby bin. When the bag was retrieved by officers, one man fled the scene on foot and the other was detained by police.

Adam Jackson (32) of Bradwell Terrace, Glossop has been charged with possession with intent to supply class A and B controlled drugs.

Lee Sale (29) of Burbage Way, Gamesley has been charged with possession of class B controlled drugs. Both are set to appear before magistrates in Buxton on Monday, October 6.

Safer Neighbourhood officers in Glossop and Gamesley would like to encourage the community to report any activity where they suspect drug dealing might be taking place.

If you have any information on suspected drugs activity, call police on 101, 999 in an emergency or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
