Glossop police appeal for information following alleged assault

Police investigating an alleged assault in Glossop are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 2.30am on Saturday, November 1, two 19-year-old girls were walking along Philip Howard Road, Glossop when they began talking to a man who was sat on a bench.

As they girls walked away, the man began making conversation with them before pushing one of the girls to the ground. He then began kicking and punching her.

The other girl tried to push the man off her friend and was also pushed to the ground and kicked.

Both girls suffered minor facial injuries.  

The man was described as white, around 6ft tall, with white/brown long curly hair, aged between 40 and 50-years-old. He spoke with a local accent and was seen to be carrying a rucksack.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Lisa Salt on 101, quoting crime number 46294/14.
