Residents in the Glossop area are being reminded that they can better protect their property from thieves at a free event in the town this weekend.

The Glossop Safer Neighbourhood Team will be working in partnership with Halfords to host the free crime prevention and property marking event at the store on Wrens Nest Retail Park in Glossop. This will take place between 12noon and 4pm on Saturday, January 21.

During the afternoon, the policing team will be on hand to property mark valuables such as bikes, laptops and phones, along with offering advice on how people can boost the security of their homes, vehicles, sheds and garages.

Motorists can also have anti-theft number plate screws fitted for free to help make it difficult for thieves to steal them.
