Police appeal for witnesses after car is damaged in Hadfield

Posted on 9th December 2016

Officers from the Hadfield Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information after tyres were punctured on a car in the town.

Sometime between 8am on Monday, December 5 and 8am the following morning, vandals placed screws into the front and rear passenger tyres of a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was parked along Hadfield Road.

PCSO Brian Buller from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team said: “This may have seemed like a foolish prank to those involved but it is a very serious thing to do and could have resulted in the driver or passengers being injured.

“Thankfully nobody was hurt but I would ask those responsible to think about the possible consequences and to come forward.”

Anyone with information about the damage, or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area, is asked to contact PCSO Brian Buller on 101, quoting occurrence number 16000402181.

You can also report a crime anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
