New bobby on the beat as officer switches from Fairfield to Hope Valley

Posted on 23rd May 2013

The newest police officer on Hope Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team said he is looking forward to a different challenge after moving from Fairfield.

PC Graham Mason made the switch on Tuesday, May 21 and replaces long-serving PC Tony O’Brien, who retired at the start of the month.

Graham has already been out on the beat, getting to know the community he will be serving and finding out about issues people across the area have.

And he said he was looking forward to the challenge of focusing on crime and anti-social behaviour in a new area.

He said: “It’s a different community to the one I’ve been serving in Fairfield and it’s going to have its own challenges.

“It’s a much bigger area to cover and it’s important that we make sure everyone who lives here is safe from crime.

“Shed burglaries are the current priority for us and we’ll be heading out over the next few weeks to talk to people about their home security.”

PC Mason joins PCSO Steven Rogers and Special Constable Sidney Gill on the Hope Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team.
