Safer Neighbourhood teams increase patrol following damage to local club

Posted on 9th September 2013

New Mills and Hayfield Safer Neighbourhood Team will be increasing patrols in the community after football nets are damaged at Hayfield Juniors Football club on Bank Vale road.

The committee and members of the football club have raised money to support the team over the years and are both upset and disappointed that the nets have been damaged.

PCSO Lee Baker, from New Mills and Hayfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are asking neighbours and locals to remain vigilant and report any youths congregating on the field.

“We will also be increasing patrols on the streets to help reassure the communities and prevent any similar incidents occurring.”

If you have any information regarding this incident or wish to speak to your local Safer Neighbourhood team, call 101.
