Officers in Whaley Bridge are working to boost home and garden security to help prevent thefts in local neighbourhoods.
PC Graham Mason and PCSO Tracy Jones from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team hosted a community priority meeting on Monday, April 27, which gave residents the chance to have their say on policing priorities in the area.
Following the meeting the team will be heading out on the beat to speak to homeowners about the steps that they can take to protect their property from being targeted by thieves.
Over coming months, Safer Neighbourhood officers will be carrying out leaflet drops and hosting crime prevention days in the community to offer security and crime prevention advice.
Residents are being encouraged to take steps to boost their home security, and to report any suspicious behaviour to police to help police to stop a crime from happening.
To report suspicious behaviour in your community, call police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
To speak to the Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, call 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police.
