We are appealing for information after tools and gardening equipment was stolen during three incidents in the Whaley Bridge area during the same night.
The incidents all took place sometime overnight between Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31.
A vehicle and a garage parked on Reservoir Road, and a pick-up van parked on Orchard Road, were targeted.
Items including a drill, jigsaw, leaf blower, hedge cutter, screwdrivers and spanners were all taken during the incidents.
PCSO Tracy Jones, of the Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Following these thefts we are reminding people to be alert, and to consider the security of any tools or equipment they keep in vans, sheds or other outbuildings.
“If you can, leave your vehicle empty; lock it, fit and set an alarm and remove all valuable tools overnight. If storing tools in a shed or a garage, make sure they are secured using adequate strength and sized locks for the type of storage and value of equipment inside.”
Other crime prevention steps include parking in a secure area, in positions that would make access to a vehicle more difficult, and to property mark valuable tools and equipment. You can also register them on Immobilise, the national property register.
PCSO Jones added: “If you have any information at all that you think could help us with our inquiries, please get in touch.”
Did you notice anything see or hear anything suspicious in the area that evening? Have you any information about where these tools may be?
