Two charged with breaking into a shed and a garage, and stealing from cars in Whaley Bridge on Christmas Eve

Two men have been charged with breaking in to a shed and a garage, and theft from a car in the Whaley Bridge area during Christmas Eve and in the early hours of Christmas Day.

It is in connection with a series of incidents on Shallcross Mill Road, Elnor Lane, Walters Wood and Mevril Springs Way.

Robert Allcock, 46, of Ashton Road, Denton, has been charged with two counts of non-dwelling burglary, one theft from a vehicle and one attempted theft from a vehicle.

Allan Wood, 44, of Tintagel Walk, Hyde, has also been charged with two counts of non-dwelling burglary, one theft from a vehicle and two counts of attempted theft from a vehicle.

The charges have been brought following an investigation by the High Peak Crime Action Team.

Both men are due to appear before magistrates in Stockport for a hearing on Monday, July 23.
