In an emergency always call 999

Clowne officers team up to put the brakes on nuisance motorbikes

Posted on 5th March 2015

Safer Neighbourhood officers in Clowne will be teaming up to tackle nuisance motorbikes after setting the issue as their latest policing priority.

The priority was decided following the recent Community Panel Meeting which sees residents speaking to their local team about any neighbourhood concerns that they may have.

PC Jason Graham and PCSO Simon Galley will be heading out on regular patrols around Linear Park in Clowne after residents raised concerns about motorbike riders causing a disturbance in the area.

During their patrols, the team will be speaking to motorbike riders about issue and the effect that their behaviour may have on people living close by.  The riders will also be advised about how further action may be taken if the situation continues.

The Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team will be working closely with partnership agencies to help to find longer term solutions to issues of anti-social behaviour.

PC Jason Graham from the team said: “The views of our residents are very important to us and we will work hard to tackle those issues that matter to them the most.

“Over the next few months we will be heading out and speaking to motorbike riders about their behaviour to help to improve the situation, taking further action where necessary.

“I would like to ask residents to report incidents of nuisance behaviour to us so that we can improve the lives for local people.”

Residents in the area are being actively encouraged to report incidents of anti-social and nuisance behaviour to police by calling 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
