Members of a community group in Clowne have been picking up crime prevention and safety advice from their local Safer Neighbourhood team.
PCSO Simon Galley visited Clowne Community Centre on Wednesday, May 6, to meet members of a monthly group.
He chatted about crime prevention tips including looking out for the signs of distraction burglaries, rogue traders and scams involving letters, telephone calls and cold callers.
PCSO Galley said: “I would like to thank the ladies for their very warm welcome. It was great to meet members of the local community and they were very keen to learn more about simple safety steps to better protect themselves from crime.
“The topics we covered are ones which often see elderly or more vulnerable members of society targeted so it is vital to ensure people are clued up on how to spot the danger signs. They then can pass on advice to their family members and friends to make sure we get the message out there.
“For more information or crime prevention tips, I would urge local residents to contact me using the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police, 101.”
