Youngsters met local police in fun day events at Children's Centres in Clowne and Creswell

Posted on 31st August 2018

Youngsters met officers from their local Safer Neighbourhood policing teams during summer fun day events in Clowne and Creswell.

Our officers went along to the Children’s Centres in the villages on Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22.

The events were set up by Derbyshire County Council Children’s Centre staff to offer local families the chance to come together for a fun community event, and to find out more information about health services, family support, nursery education, childcare, jobs and careers, money matters and housing advice.

PCSO Suzanne Fox of the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It was a good opportunity for us to meet local residents and families. We took along a police car, which the little ones loved getting in, and turning the lights on, as well as dressing up in our coats and hats.

“We found both events very rewarding as we were able to engage with the local community, who were pleased to see us, and we hope to do the same next year.”
