Motorists in Killamarsh are being reminded of the importance of abiding by road markings following reports of problem parking in the area.
Officers from the Killamarsh Safer Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out patrols in the area and will be speaking to motorists who are found to be causing a nuisance.
The issue has been raised by local residents following vehicles parking and obstructing pedestrian crossings around the Bridge Street area in Killamarsh.
Sergeant Aidan Stones, of the local policing team, said: “I would like to remind drivers about the importance of safe and considerate parking.
“Enforcement action will be taken against motorists who park and obstruct pedestrian crossings.
“The road markings are there for a reason and motorists are not only putting pedestrians at risk, who use the crossing, but they could also face a £100 fine and three points on their licence.”
