I am Inspector Rob Bowns, the Local Policing Unit Inspector for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. I have the responsibility for policing in Killamarsh, Shirebrook, Bolsover, Dronfield, Clay Cross, Tibshelf, Grassmoor, Calow and the surrounding areas.
I have more than 30 years of policing service and have carried out various roles within policing throughout the county. During my service, I have worked in various different teams in areas including response, rural crime, safer neighbourhoods, licensing, vulnerability and community safety. I have also worked on partnership teams which have incorporated several different local authorities and Derbyshire County Council.
Before being promoted to the rank of Inspector, I was a Police Constable and Sergeant for more than 18 years in the North East Derbyshire and Bolsover areas. I have a good understanding of neighbourhood policing and the issues affecting our local areas.
I fully understand the importance of listening to and engaging with our communities. A positive working relationship between the police, local partners and local residents is vital to tackle criminality and anti-social behaviour.
Tackling hate crime and protecting the vulnerable within our communities are key priorities.
By working together, we will aim to improve the quality of life for all those who live, work and visit North East Derbyshire and Bolsover.
