Police are urging motorists in Shirland to be vigilant after reports of a number of vehicle thefts and break-ins.

Between Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, a number of vehicles were targeted across the parish by offenders.

Sometime between 9pm and 7am, a van containing tools was stolen from outside a property on Elm Tree Avenue (CR/23679/15).

Thieves drilled a lock to gain entry to a vehicle on Goose Green Lane between 5pm and 7am, before stealing tools from inside (CR/23681/15).  A vehicle break-in was also attempted on the same street but nothing was taken.

Various items were stolen from a van parked on Chesterfield Road after offenders drilled the lock and rolled the vehicle forward to gain entry (CR/23691/15).

Similar incidents also took place on Hallfieldgate Lane and Birkinstyle Lane during the same time period.
