We have arrested two people on suspicion of drugs offences after officers from the Alvaston Safer Neighbourhood Team executed a search warrant at a house on Harvey Road, Derby.

The team carried out the search today, Monday, February 27 under the Misuse of Drugs Act and recovered a quantity of cash and what is believed to be crack cocaine.

The 37 year-old woman and 22 year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and taken to St Mary’s Wharf Police Station, where they will be being questioned.

Sergeant Graham Young, who is in charge of the team, said: “The action was taken as a result of intelligence received from the community. We are very aware that this type of behaviour can have a detrimental effect on communities with associated crime and anti-social behaviour and so we will always endeavour to act when we receive such information.

“We have also been visiting other local properties and letting people know what we have been doing at the address to re-assure them of the positive action we have taken. We would urge anyone with further similar information to contact us.”
