Our officers from the Alvaston Safer Neighbourhood Team are inviting residents of the Derby suburb to join them in the park during August.

The events are being held in Alvaston Park, Meadow Lane on three dates in August for residents to come and meet the team, discuss any policing issues and receive crime prevention advice and property marking.

The first event is being held this Wednesday, August 2 between 10am and 2pm.

PC David Hunt from the team said: “We will be setting up on three dates during August as we know that the park is particularly busy during the school summer holidays. It gives us an opportunity to speak to a wide range of people about policing in the area and any concerns they may have.

“We will also be available to discuss crime prevention and property mark bikes which is a very useful way of helping to prevent the theft of pedal cycles.

“Anyone visiting will see us on the park as we will have a large gazebo with the force crest and a marked police vehicle that we know children love having a sit in and turning the blue lights and sirens on.”

The team will also be on the park on Thursday, August 17 between 2pm and 6pm and Thursday, August 24 between 4pm and 8pm.

For more information on the events contact the team on 101 or send them a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.
