Our Alvaston Safer Neighbourhood Team has matched up with Derby County to offer fans going to this week’s game v Swansea, Christmas carols and crime prevention advice.
Derby County’s Pride Park stadium is on the policing team’s patch and so on Saturday, December 1, they will be in front of the main reception with the IKON church choir encouraging fans to join in and offering crime prevention advice.
PC Toni Rudd, from the team, explained: “The football stadium falls on our patch and whilst the policing of the football falls to the wider force we thought this fixture gave us an opportunity to speak to lots of people and give them some Christmas related crime prevention advice.
“Of course the match is on the first day of December, so what better day to have some Christmas carols and we are really pleased that the IKON church choir will be with us to sing some of their songs and carols.”
The team will be in place at around 2pm and will be distributing advice leaflets, a copy of which is attached.
