More than 30 bicycles have been security marked during a crime prevention event at a school in Alvaston.
Officers from the Alvaston Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team organised for the event to be hosted at Lakeside School in Alvaston where they could offer youngsters advice on safety and security mark their bikes.
The event took place at the school on Monday, February 2 where 34 bikes was security marked by PCSOs Jill Bagley, Andrea Thompson and Jayne Williamson.
PCSO Williamson said: “We marked a total of 34 bicycles during the event which will hopefully deter a thief from stealing the bike.
“In the event that a bike is stolen and recovered by the police, then it can be easily identified and returned to its rightful owner.
“I would like to thank the school for their support in setting up this event which we hope will not only protect the youngsters bikes but create positive relationships with them and the school.”
