Officers from Boulton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have kindly been offered the use of a property on Shalfleet Drive to use as a base.
The property is being provided by Affinity Housing for six months as a trial and enables officers to maintain a high visibility presence in the area for longer periods of time.
Officers can use the facilities here but can also use the place as a base for appointments with the public.
PCSO Kev Butler from the Boulton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This is a really generous offer from Affinity Housing and shows a good example of partnership working.
“It means we can maintain our presence in the area for longer and if members of the public would prefer to meet us at the office to discuss any concerns rather than paying a visit to their home it allows for that flexibility and discretion.
“There have been problems in this area with anti-social behaviour so it will allow us to tackle those issues straightaway.
“This is a short term measure but if it proves successful we may have to look at obtaining funding from other external sources to continue this initiative.”
