On Friday 27th May individuals from Chellaston Youth Club got the opportunity to take part in Derbyshire Constabulary’s Ozbox.
Around 50 local youngsters took part on the evening at the youth club based on Barley Croft in Chellaston.
The youngsters completed a mixture of keep fit, circuit training and basic boxing skills throuhout the session.
Mark Smith, Derby Ozbox Trainer, who held the session, said: “ The group were very enthusiastic, they all trained well together and ultimately enjoyed it."
Keith Brampton, Chellaston Youth Club Chairman said: “Ozbox is a fantastic tool, it gives the kids a good workout which they thoroughly enjoyed and is a great way of building relationships with them."
From Friday 10th June at 7pm, there will be further sessions being held at the Pavilion on Snelsmoor Lane Park for four weeks. They are free for anyone wishing to take part.
Ozbox, which was set up in Chesterfield six years ago, is a non-contact boxing-based fitness programme for youngsters aged 11 to 19 which combines circuit training and boxing skills to improve confidence.
