Residents in the Derby East section of the city are being urged to complete a survey about their local Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
The survey, entitled ‘Your Local Police, Your Views’, is aimed at people who reside in Alvaston, Shelton Lock, Allenton, Sinfin, Osmaston, Boulton and Chellaston, and it is hoped that the completed surveys will highlight how the teams are perceived by the public, how they are performing, and how they can improve performance.
Andrea Parkin, Section Inspector for Derby East policing area, said: “For me the Safer Neighbourhood team is the back bone of policing at Derby East. Working closely with members of the community to get to the heart of matters is crucial.
“Open and honest feedback is welcomed and all comments will be considered. I genuinely want local residents to help us to make a difference to where they live or work.
“Moving forwards, we aim to build on our successes and to actively look for new ways to engage with a wider cross-section of our local communities.
“With a greater understanding, we can achieve greater levels of protection and offer increased levels of reassurance. I would therefore encourage completion of the survey.
“It is my personal aim that as an overall team, Derby East will provide the highest quality policing possible by being active, visible and approachable in all the communities we serve.”
Feedback is very useful to Safer Neighbourhood Teams, and can form targeted policing plans and help the teams tackle those issues that are affecting communities the most.
