One of our Safer Neighbourhood officers has thanked the public for their response after she asked for help in naming a suspect to a theft from a van.

Last week we released the attached image of a man buying fuel using a shell fuel card that had been reported stolen from a van in Wetherby Road, Derby in June.

After asking if anyone recognised the man we had several calls naming the same individual. We have now blurred his face in the image as he is a named suspect.

The officer investigating the theft is PC Leah Church, who said: “I would just like to thanks those that rang in and gave me a name for the suspect in the picture. I am now making arrangements for him to be interviewed about the theft and the subsequent fraudulent use of the stolen card.
