Police in Sinfin appeal for witnesses to a lad on a bike after theft from cars

Police in Sinfin are appealing for witnesses after four cars have been broken in to in the area since this Monday, October 17. 

The offences have happened around the area of Shakespeare Street and have all taken place between 2.30pm and 6.30pm with the front windows of the cars being smashed and property such as a sports bag, sat nav and handbag being stolen. 

Sergeant Graham Young, who is in charge of Sinfin Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are particularly keen to speak to a young man who has been seen cycling away from the area at the time of the crimes.” 

The young man is described as being aged between 15 and 22 years of age and on one occasion was seen riding a dark coloured mountain bike with one red and one gold wheel and on another a red and black bike with white walled wheels. 

Sergeant Young said: “We would ask that anyone living or parking their cars in this area of Sinfin be particularly vigilant at this time of the afternoon and evening and if anyone has any information that they contact the team.”
