Our officers from the Allestree Safer Neighbourhood Team have arrested a man after a drug search at a house in the Derby suburb.

The team carried out the search at a house on Woodlands Road on Friday, May 5 under the Misuse of Drugs Act and recovered what is believed to be cannabis along with a quantity of cash.

A 34 year-old man, arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply, has been interviewed and released under investigation.

PC Harriet Hitchon, from the team, said: “A warrant to search the house was obtained from the magistrates after we received intelligence from the community. This action shows that we will take positive action on receiving such intelligence as we realise that this type of behaviour can have an effect on other crime levels and anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhood.”
