Our Allestree Safer Neighbourhood Team were joined out on the beat last week by the police cadets.

The group were out and about on the evening of Thursday, November 29, delivering crime prevention advice around the Derby suburb to help prevent burglaries and vehicle crime.

The Derbyshire Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme is aimed at 10 to 18 year olds, to give young people an insight in to the many and varied aspects of policing, to make them aware of the role of the police in society, to develop their character and to promote good citizenship.

PCSO Ibrar Rafique, from the team, said: “It was great to be joined by the cadets which meant that we were able to get around a large part of Allestree, delivering crime prevention advice and speaking to people about how they can help to keep themselves safe.”

The cadets are pictured here with the Allestree policing team as they embarked on their patrol.
