Officers from our Allestree and Darley Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding an event next week aimed at giving vulnerable residents fraud prevention advice.

The event is being held on Monday, October 22 at Whitecross House, a retirement housing complex on Leyland Gardens in the ‘Six-Streets’ area of Derby.

Although the event is being held with Derby Homes, who manage the complex, it is open to all to attend and members of the team will be available to give information on the kinds of frauds that are common at the moment and how best to avoid them.

PCSO Linda Ball, from the team, said: “Fraud, particularly on-line, is a growing area of crime that can target the most vulnerable in our society.

“We will be there to explain how such crimes can be avoided and to give some general crime prevention advice, anyone is welcome to attend.”

If you are not able to attend but would still like some such advice contact the team on any of the following non-emergency contact methods.
