Police release CCTV footage of damage being caused to parked cars in Derby

Cowley St Damage

One of our officers has released CCTV footage of a man she would like to speak to after three cars were damaged in a Derby street.

The incident happened last month at around 6pm on the evening of Thursday, February 22 in Cowley Street, Derby. The footage appears to show a man walk past the parked cars and scratch them with an unknown object. Three cars were subsequently found to have been damaged.

The damage is being investigated by PC Vicki Marriott, who said: “The action seems to be without motive but has caused hundreds of pounds of damage to the three cars.

“I realise that the footage is not clear but it does appear to show a man causing deliberate damage to two of the cars as he walks past.

“Despite the quality of the images I am asking for help from the public in identifying the man, who may well be local to that area, so that we can bring some justice to the victims who have been put to inconvenience and expense as a result of this man’s actions.
