Police in Allestree release CCTV footage of an attempt break-in at wine shop.

Posted on 7th March 2018

Our officers from the Allestree Safer Neighbourhood Team have released CCTV footage of an attempt break-in at a local wine shop.

The images have been released in the hope that someone will recognise the two people in the footage.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, February 22 at the Wine Rack, Park Farm Centre, Allestree, Derby.

PC Dalbir Janagal (DJ) from the team is investigating the incident and said: ”The two men in the footage appear to return a few times before one of them hits the window with a sledge hammer in an apparent attempt to force entry.

“Although they did not manage to get in to the shop considerable damage was caused which clearly is a cost and inconvenience to this local business.

“Although both people had their faces covered we hope that someone may recognise them from their clothing or perhaps even the sledge hammer that is being used.”
