At around 1.00pm on Monday, June 16 two men approached an 87-year-old man who was in his front garden on Birchover Way in Allestree.

They offered to carry out work on his home relating to the removal of asbestos and stated they would repair the roof if he gave them money upfront to buy building materials.

The victim agreed and handed over a large sum of money to the two men who never returned to complete any work.
