We have arrested a man on suspicion of drugs offences after officers from our Chaddesden Safer Neighbourhood Team executed a search warrant at a house in the suburb of Derby.

The team carried out the search on Tuesday, March 7 under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house in Norwich Street and recovered a quantity of what we believe to be amphetamine and cannabis.

The 52 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and taken to St Mary’s Wharf Police Station. He has been interviewed and bailed to return back to the station whilst officers conduct further enquiries.

PC Kelly Oliver is part of the team who carried out the search, she said: “The information was received from the community and this action shows that we will always act positively when we receive such information. This type of activity often leads to other criminal and anti-social activity which affects the standard of living for our communities.”
