Number plate security event Chaddesden 08-18

Officers from our Chaddesden, Derwent, Oakwood and Spondon Safer Neighbourhood Teams are offering residents free crime prevention equipment and advice.

The offer comes at an event being held later this week on the Wyvern Centre, Derby on Wednesday, August 1.

The officers will be distributing anti-tamper number plate screws after a spate of theft of number plates in the area and will also be available to security mark other valuables.

PC Kelly Oliver, said: "We have recently had a number of thefts of number plates from vehicles and these screws make it far more difficult to remove the plates.

“The event is also an opportunity for residents to come and meet the team and get advice of any policing issues that they may concerns about."

The policing teams will be at Halfords on the shopping centre between 11am and 2pm.
