Officers in Spondon had great success with their action plan to deter ASB during half term break up last week.
Traditionally the May half term break sees some form of nuisance behaviour due to Year 11's finishing for study leave and the the rest of the school breaking up for the holiday.
However, officers from Spondon Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team were prepared and only one incident of nuisance behaviour was reported.
On Friday 27th May, high visibility patrols took place in the area from school finishing time until late evening and all areas of the neighbourhood and off-licences were visited.
Several groups were stopped and a large quantity of alcohol was seized. 11 Section 27 orders were issued where youths believed to be involved with alcohol related disorder were told to leave the area and several ASB referrals were made.
PC Vicki Marriott from the Spondon Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Because of our early intervention we only had one instance of nuisance behaviour reported.
"We were determined to reduce any hindrance or disorder to the community and feel that our actions proved to be very successful.
"In the past, in excess of 100 youths have gathered at Dale Park for the school break up at half term but we made sure that we were not going to have a repeat of that episode."
"If any of our residents experience nuisance behaviour or have any concerns in relation to local policing please contact our team: firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 0345 123 33 33.
