Members of the public have the chance to pick up advice about bike security and get their bike marked during a special police and Safer Spondon event taking place this week.
Officers from the local Spondon Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be running the event in conjunction with Safer Spondon, a sub-group that operates under the local Neighbourhood Board and supports crime prevention events.
They will be offering crime prevention information and sharing advice on how to keep your bike, and other personal belongings as safe and secure as possible.
Cyclists can bring along their bikes as the team are offering a free bike etching service alongside products from Bike.Register.Com including items suitable for Carbon Fibre bikes.
The event will take place at Cyclo Monster Cycle shop, on Derby Road, Spondon between 10.00am and 3.00pm on Saturday, September 20.
PCSO Kate Hodnett from the team said: “The event is all about helping people to keep their bikes safe and secure no matter where they are.
“We have plenty of crime prevention advice and look forward to seeing any local bike enthusiasts on the day.”
The team hold regular surgeries and crime prevention events in the area. To contact your local Safer Neighbourhood policing team call 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org|
