Police are to offer visitors to Derby free crime prevention items and advice on preventing fraud at an event in the city.

Derby City Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team is supporting a fraud awareness event being held at the bank.

Sgt Brian Clifton, who is in charge of the team, said: ”The force is doing a lot of work to raise awareness of fraud and in particular, that committed on-line so of course we are happy to support the event being held by Barclays Bank.

“Officers from my team will be in the branch, with not only fraud crime prevention information but also some items that can help prevent people becoming victims of more traditional crimes such as bag thefts and dipping.”
